As a trial lawyer, Jacqueline Vinaccia is a powerful advocate and skilled negotiator. With more than three decades of experience trying cases in front of judges, juries, and arbitrators, she understands how to craft an effective litigation strategy tailored to her client’s needs. Business owners, local government leaders and corporate executives engage her to efficiently and effectively resolve their legal disputes – in and out of the courtroom. As an attorney she takes pride in protecting her client’s assets and their time. Ms. Vinaccia has also developed a niche practice as an Attorney Fee Auditor, saving and recovering millions for her clients at every level of litigation.
As an auditor, she has assisted scores of business clients, municipalities, and insurance companies in resolving attorney fee disputes, and acted as an attorney fee analysis expert in several states throughout the United States. An expert witness, she has testified in state and federal courts to assist judges and juries in determining appropriate attorneys’ fee awards. Ms. Vinaccia is a member of the National Association of Legal Fee Analysis and was named one of the Nation’s Top Legal Fee Experts by that organization.
She writes and presents on the topics of appropriate billing practices and fee auditing in local and national publications and before organizations across the country including the National Association of Legal Fee Analysis, Fact & Findings magazine, KNOW Paralegal Magazine, San Diego Daily Transcript and the San Diego Defense Lawyers magazine. She also serves as a fee arbitrator on the Fee Arbitration Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association.
Ms Vinaccia earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1987. In 1990, she received her Juris Doctor degree from University of the San Diego, School of Law, with honors in Trial Advocacy.
Ms. Vinaccia is Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent ® Rated and was voted to San Diego Super Lawyers in 2013 – 2021, Southern California Super Lawyers in 2014, and San Diego Magazine’s Top Lawyers in 2014 -2021.
Ms. Vinaccia is a longtime advocate for LGBTQ rights and serves as a host committee member of Equality California’s Annual Equality awards. Honoring her roots, she previously served as General Counsel for MANA de San Diego – a National Latina Organization and is a Member of the National Italian American Bar Association.
